The Mein Kampf thing happened, but when you dig deeper into the story, there’s not much there there. Never did the rewritten text call for the extermination of white men or refer to them as evil. The people who actually took the time to read it reported that so little of the original text was left that it wasn’t even comparable.

And I disagree that it’s “socially acceptable” to hate white men. It might be more acceptable to speak about white men critically than it is of other groups, but that’s precisely because we hold more power than all over groups, and those critiques don’t really have much of an impact on our daily lives.
